Activity Details

·       Activity: 2 Days of Rock Climbing

·       Difficulty: Medium / High

·       Season: Year-round

·       Group Size: 4 people (private program)

·       Estimated Duration: Approximately 8 hours per day

Day 1 – Sport Climbing in Los Manyos (El Manzano)

The day begins at 08:00 am with pick-up from the participants’ accommodation in the El Ingenio area. We then travel by private transport to El Manzano, where the day starts with a safety and introductory briefing, covering objectives, risk management, and operational protocols.

A 45-minute to 1-hour approach hike follows, along a moderate trail to the Los Manyos sector. During the approach, guides provide interpretive information on the local flora, fauna, fungi, and geological formations.

Los Mañíos features fully bolted sport climbing routes on solid volcanic tuff (toba), with grades ranging from 5.8 to 5.12. This sector is ideal for warming up, reviewing movement techniques, belaying systems, and descent maneuvers. The day includes guided climbing practice and personalized technical feedback.

Return to El Ingenio at approximately 6:00 pm.

Day 2 – Sport Climbing in Potrero Seco (Lo Valdés)

Pick-up at 08:00 am from the accommodation in El Ingenio, followed by a longer transfer into the mountains toward the village of Lo Valdés.

Access to the Potrero Seco climbing area involves a short approach hike of less than 20 minutes, along a well-defined and low-difficulty trail, less demanding than the previous day.

Potrero Seco offers sport climbing on high-quality rock in an open alpine environment, with 360° panoramic views of volcanoes, hanging glaciers, and major rock walls. The technical focus is on movement efficiency, sequence reading, body positioning, and energy management on lead, always under the supervision of certified local guides.

Return to El Ingenio at approximately 6:00 pm, closing the program.
